My new updated Commission sheet (as of March 5th, 2014)
The prices stated above are negotiable, BUT only within the shown ranges. Commissions are done according to how much effort I take to draw up the art piece. The rates shown above are used as a reference to estimate how much you should pay for the commission and in no means intended to be used directly. I may overdo it (most of the time) so I appreciate extra pay if you are willing to do so, if not, the price you agreed to pay will be enough.
Basically, the range shown in the sheet shows how much you can pay me.
Once again, please provide sufficient description on what you want in your commission in the form of a submission and how much you would want to pay. Of course, since I’m basing this on effort now, I MAY DECREASE/INCREASE what you intend to pay. A free pre-made sketch can be done to determine the price.
I now accept pony and human drawings. Cartoon drawings of other characters can be done as well. As you know, I draw best in grimdark and gore scenes.
Another thing is that due to my discovery that a Singapore Law forbids individual charity, I advise you NOT to use my donation button. I’ll be removing it soon.

If there’s any questions, please ask away.
(Sorry for constantly updating this)
Sheet has been finalized.
Reblogging again for the day crew
Keeping this here
Might wanna buy one when me moneies come.
This is going to make me sound like a dick to alot of you i’m sure…
But these prices are way, way too crazy for what’s being offered. Like, insane prices.
Sure he’s a decent artist and all but…. These prices are over the top.
The point of drawing is to enjoy it and get ideas… Not earn every bit of penny in everyone purse… $150 for a decent drawing? What is this?
This is stupid… Look at other peoples commission sheets then look at this…
._. Did you read?
"Prices are negotiable."
Like literally, I’d accept any amount and it could even be as low as a dollar. The rates are just references and I don’t use them other than reference to how much I could get paid in total.
Really, I’ve been told before I updated my sheet that my prices were so low, I’m considered earning lower than minimum wage workers. This sheet was shown to have flexible prices and yet you guys say it’s too much.
I work for a shitload of time on these drawings. Not to mention the annoying urge to correct and perfect every detail, fixing and adjusting it takes me forever. I’m just trying to learn.
I never said the prices were fixed. If you want to pay less, pay less. I tend to overdo shit anyway. A dollar? That’s fine, you get a minute sketch. $10? Fine, however good the sketch to be done is up to you.
I don’t want to sound like an asshole nor urge you to throw money at a noobish unemployed artist. I just want some value in the work that I do. Be it underpaid or overpaid or even just right. I’m done asking for too little, but that doesn’t mean I want to ask for too much.
So please, do you think I’m need you to pay up $150 for a colored piece I could spend a few hours on? No, because the lowest you can go could be around $10 to $30 and the most could be around there depending on how detailed you want it to be. I do not force my clients to pay what they would not like to pay.
You do get the value in the work that you do but advertising for these prices will draw customers away from you.
They’ll instantly see the $100 mark like We did and just go ” fuck that” and walk away… Market my friend, it’s all about show and tell.
Be productive when you throw out your work. You’re not a noob artist I’ll give you that.. But I feel you need to offer more then just pony art… Offer everything. This is the way to grab the attention of kids with their daddy’s wallets.
I’m desperate, dude. I needed to pay off debts. I simply made this within an hour with the stuff that I have to make the sheet. It’s all crap work that I worked months or even weeks ago because I was out for awhile. Thought it does seem much, I thought the assumption that people can read that you can negotiate prices with me would work out. Not to mention I had to make the sheet while under a fatigue and less than a few days ‘till deadline.
For now, I’ve got debts paid and a new goal which in mind is enough pocket money and a new laptop for school. I’m working on paid commissions and I’m certain my art’s improving. The shit you see above is the past works that look like shit or just took me forever to do. But I’ve changed in the past and now I’ve improved quite fairly and I now plan to update the sheet once again. And in order to do that I need more drawings.
Get high pay commissions > Get better drawings for commissions.
But do yourself a favour, draw something for yourself for once. Not for DRD, but for you. Do something sparkly and something you’re proud to call your own. You have the power and motivation to do so so do it.
I’ll spread this around but just don’t stress yourself out too much, it’ll look bad on yourself
Thank you. I guess I would need a little breather and could use a personal drawing. I haven’t had much of a work for my own, sadly enough.
I’ll do my best.
I am very sorry for this completely off topic post, but I think he’s pricing his work more than fair and the issue lies in maybe making a less complex pricing sheet. Perhaps time yourself and work out “set” prices and have add-ons due to complexity rather than a complicated intimidating pricing sheet like this?
However, if you do insist on a sheet like this, I’d take a look at ESKIWORKS and how they do their pricing set up.
And as for the people complaining, if you’d can’t afford the commission don’t say they need to lower their prices. $10/hour is more than a fair wage for illustrative services at this artist’s skill level; just because you don’t agree doesn’t mean it is inherently wrong.
And for the artist, if you don’t feel like you’re getting enough demand, fiddle with your prices a bit. Lower prices = more work whereas higher prices = less work but it all balances out so just figure out what works best for you. :)

Just as an FYI, I track the tags “starchaser” and “star chaser” so if there’s something you’d like me to see tag it as such since I can’t reply to submissions all the time! :, D <33
(And remember, only your first five tags show in tumblr searches!)

dzunepwnsipod asked: Hi, your 'ask star chaser' blog looks like a fun blog to follow, and I'd be interested in following it, but I have a single concern. You see I wan't to stay as far away from NSFW-MLP content as I possibly can. If you could tell me your blog was SFW and or PG I could love to follow it. I hope you understand, and thank you for your time.
Ask-Star-Chaser is 100% sfw as a blog!
